We have added an optional excursion for Sunday, June 11: a beautiful tour through the Chianti region, which will drop us in Florence in time for the beginning of the HBM meeting, and thus will double as transportation to Florence.  The bus will leave Cortona at 9 am and first visit a winery-castle , Badia a Coltibuono (http://www.bardotti.com/coltibuono.htm), Gaiole in Chianti, where we can join in a wine tasting. We will then stop in Radda in Chianti  for lunch at your leisure (http://www.radda-in-chianti.com/) and finally head to the conference center in Florence, following the Chianti road and arriving at 4 pm.  The drive will be quite scenic and will really give you a great taste of the amazing Tuscan region. 

The cost is US$45 per person.  This does include your admission to the winery, but does not include lunch. We will send you additional information with your registration confirmation.
