From Florence, Cortona is accessible by train (a bus runs from the airport to the train station every 30 minutes) or by car.

By train, take the Florence-Rome railway either to the Terontola-Cortona railway station or to the Camucia-Cortona railway station. The Terontola station is 11 km from Cortona; the Camucia station is 5 km. Click here for timetables. Bus service and taxis to Cortona are available from both stations.

By car, take the Autostrada A1 south to the Valdichiana exit - about 120 kilometers. As soon as you exit, take the Siena-Perugia State Road and continue towards Perugia. There are three possible turn-offs for Cortona: Cortona via Manzano, Cortona via Laurentana and Cortona via Strada Statale 71 (State Road 71).

More information about Cortona can be found here.

We have booked a Chianti tour as an alternative to the train for those continuing on to Florence. This tour will take registrants from the Cortona conference center to the Florence (OHBM) conference center on Sunday, June 11, stopping at a castle and vineyards along the way.

This is a satellite meeting to be held in conjunction with the 2006 Human Brain Mapping meeting in Florence, Italy, June 11-15, 2006
