We are excited to announce that we will be returning to Rockport for this year's retreat! The Shalin Liu Performance Center is home to The Rockport Music company, a new waterfront venue that opened in 2010. The facility is state of the art, and is conveniently located right on Main St, in downtown Rockport. We are within walking distance of the beach and public garden, as well as shopping and everything else that Rockport has to offer!

There is a commuter rail stop for Rockport, so people can easily take public transportation and walk to the location - it's a beautiful 1/2 mile walk. Parking is a little tricky, I've secured some options close to the venue, but I will have to closely manage the parking situation with each and every one of you who plan to drive. I'm asking that people carpool as much as possible, which I know is usually the case when we go to Castle Hill. When you register, you'll have to let me know if you will be taking your car or not, and I'll assign you where you can park as it gets closer. The commuter rail parking lot is free and would be a beautiful walk if the weather is nice. I might plan to run a shuttle bus from that lot to the venue, it all depends on how many cars we need to deal with.

We will be having a poster session this year, to be presented by lab members (not faculty).

If you are planning to present a poster, you must coordinate with your PI, as we are limited to the amount of posters we can accommodate. Small labs can present one poster, and the handful of large labs can present 2-3. All must be coordinated through me, as well as through the help desk for printing. I will need to get an email from any person who will be presenting a poster, telling me your lab, PI and poster title.
