Judith D. Schaechter, PhD, MSPT

Assistant in Neuroscience at Massachusetts General Hospital
Dr. Schaechter brings a unique background in neuroscience and physical rehabilitation to the study of motor recovery after stroke. She received a doctoral degree in neuroscience from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and continued with postdoctoral work in neuroscience at Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She then received a Master's degree in physical therapy at Boston University. Her clinical practice included the rehabilitation of stroke patients. In the recent past, Dr. Schaechter has developed a research program at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging dedicated to understanding the neural basis of motor recovery after stroke in patients.
