Center research in cardiovascular and vascular biology advances understanding of the heart and vascular system through innovative imaging technologies and quantitative analysis. Investigators develop and apply advanced MRI, PET, and hybrid methods to assess cardiac structure and function, blood flow, vessel integrity, tissue metabolism, and the biological processes underlying atherosclerosis, ischemia, heart failure, and microvascular disease. By linking imaging biomarkers with physiology and clinical outcomes, this work enables earlier detection of disease, more precise risk assessment, and improved monitoring of therapeutic interventions, helping translate cardiovascular insights into better patient care.
