We are interested in the design and synthesis of new imaging probes (MRI, PET, NIR) and their application in detecting pathological changes and monitoring response to therapy. Active projects include:
1. Development of a PET probe to detect thrombus
2. Development of probes to detect, stage, and monitor treatment response in diseases with a fibrotic component (chronic kidney disease, chronic liver diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction).
3. Development of molecular probes to monitor fibrogenesis (active fibrosis).
4. Development of activatable MR probes to sense pH change, reactive oxygen species, enzymatic activity, and tissue redox status.
